The Superstructure of weir, 300 M long is resting on permeable foundation of sand. 60 cm thick R.C.C. diaphragm wall, resting on compact shale below sand, has been provided on upstream and downstream of structure confining the sand in between.
The superstructure is made up of concrete with upstream and downstream aprons of precast concrete blocks each weighing 4.5 Tons and packed stones. It has an under sluice, canal head regulator and earthen afflux bund. The work was completed practically in a record period of eighteen months.
