This masonry dam was constructed in the year 1929. The masonry is in lime mortar. Dam had leakages at many points on downstream. Over the period due to ageing, lime mortar had washed out of masonry joints, leaving voids and seepage path through the body of the dam.
For 1158 M long non-overflow portion, pointing on the upstream and downstream face joints was carried out. To arrest the seepage and to consolidate the body of dam, percussion drilling by descending order method and grouting in average depth of 25 M was carried out. Initially primary holes at 6M centre to centre and finally secondary holes at 3 M centre to centre were drilled and grouted. The seepage has been controlled within permissible limit.
Besides these projects, we had completed many more such projects in the past.
Details of those projects can be had from our H.O at Indore.
